Welcome!
Sachi Straus is a Chicago-born half-Japanese cat-loving artist on a perpetual hunt to find the best spot for a proper cheeseburger. They are an alum of the Montana State School of Film and Photography (go Bobcats!) with a violin focused music minor. They enjoy long walks on the beach and getting caught in the rain…
After over a decade of playing in a variety of ensembles, photography has similarly become an exhilarating performance to Sachi as they become the conductor and life becomes the symphony. Just as a conductor brings out the harmonies created between sections of an orchestra, Sachi seeks to highlight the nuances of life’s fleeting interactions. Musical performances of the same composition will be unique every execution; comparably, each “re-taken” photograph will have even the most minute differences be it a bug entering the frame or a cloud drifting into the sunlight. Sachi is fascinated by such non-replicable energies.
A die-hard musician and thrill-seeker, Sachi can be found DJ-ing, skiing into creeks, scaling balconies, dancing to bands they don’t know, or flying over their mountain bike’s handlebars.
